Influence of End Slope with a Tensile Fracture on Slope Stability in Open-pit Coal Mine

    • In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the open-pit coal mine end slope with a tensile fracture, the influence on slope stability of the developing degree of the fracture is studied. It is concluded that the occurrence of a tensile fracture will lead to a significant reduction in the safety factor of the slope. As the increase of fracture depth, the displacement of the monitoring points will also increase, and the safety factor will always decrease. The magnitude of the change is decreasing. According to the characteristics of slope sliding failure, it is found that the length of the shear failure section of the lower part of the sliding body is also increased due to the increase of the fracture depth. Therefore, the range of the rock mass during the shear is increased, so the shear resistance of the lower rock mass is improved. At last, according to the current working conditions, some suggestions are proposed for the west end to prevent the crack from extending to the lower rock layer, it is suggested that GPS monitoring should be carried out in the control area of the crack on the end wall to monitor the dynamic change of the slope in real time.
