Experiments are carried out to investigate the effect of pulverized coal on the flame propagation velocity of foam metal, and the migration laws of pulverized coal when it has explosion suppression medium in pipeline and the mechanism of its explosion suppression effect are emphatically analyzed. The pulverized coal in the pipeline is divided into three parts under the influence of explosion shock wave: remaining in the front part of the explosive suppression material without being raised; a portion remaining on the explosive suppression material; part of the material passing through the explosion suppressor. The influence of pulverized coal on the explosion suppression performance of foamed metal is mainly reflected in the following aspects: when the particle size of the pulverized coal is fixed, too large or too small weight of coal powder has little effect on the explosion suppression performance of foam metal. When the mass of pulverized coal is too small, most of the pulverized coal escapes through foam metal, which has little effect on its explosion suppression performance. However, when the mass of pulverized coal is too large, the oxygen concentration in the local area is insufficient, and the coal remaining on the foam metal is not easy to burn, which has a small impact on the explosion suppression performance of the foam metal. When the quality of pulverized coal is constant and the particle size is closer to the pore diameter of foam metal, the pulverized coal stays on the foam metal is more easily and the impact on its explosion suppression performance is greater.
