Abstract
To study the relationship between mechanical properties of frozen clay modified by rubber and temperature and rubber content, and to explore the optimum rubber content at different temperature levels, the WDT-100 frozen soil pressure tester was selected to conduct uniaxial compressive strength tests on mine clay by strain loading, mechanical properties and stress-strain curves of improved soil were obtained at different rubber contents and different freezing temperatures. The results show that the elastic modulus and strength of frozen clay can be improved by adding rubber, and the effect is most remarkable when the content of rubber is 10% to 15%. The increase range of strength of frozen clay decreases with the decrease of freezing temperature; the damage degree of frozen clay is the smallest when the content of rubber is 10%. When the temperature is -5 ℃ to -10 ℃, the damage degree of frozen clay is the smallest. The toughness of frozen clay can be improved by adding rubber. When the temperature is low to -15 ℃, the toughness of frozen clay can be reduced by adding rubber.
