Experimental Study on Fault Sliding Mode Under Multiple Normal Stress of Different Media Combination

Abstract
Fault slip is one of the key factors that induce rock burst, and study on slipping mode could deepen the understanding of fault rock burst. Double-sides shear friction test was designed to study the slipping modes under different media and loading conditions. The result shows that, there are 3 different slipping modes in the test, which are continuous instability sliding, discontinuous instability sliding and steady sliding, meanwhile, the velocity of sliding and loading shows an unsynchronized feature for the dissipation or release of the elastic energy, and the steady sliding between homologous medium with high strength shows the greatest danger. According to the analysis of sliding feature under different conditions, the comprehensive effect of normal stress on interface and properties of sliding media is the key to the sliding mode.
