Effect of Steel Fiber Shape on Mechanical Properties of Concrete and Application of Wet Spray Support

    • In order to study the reinforcing effect of different shapes and amounts of steel fiber on concrete and better apply to roadway wet spray support, straight, wavy and concave-convex steel fibers were selected. The tensile and flexural strength of concrete with three kinds of shape steel fibers at 0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 kg/m3 were studied by experiments. The best shape and the amount of steel fiber are applied to the roadway wet spray support. The effect of wet-spray support of steel fiber reinforced concrete was analyzed through on-site observation. The results show that the order of tensile strength and flexural strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete with different shapes is: concave and convex> wave type> straight type. The optimum steel fiber content for tensile strength and flexural strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete is 60 kg/m3. The steel fiber concrete wet-spray support can effectively control the surrounding rock of the roadway, which is better than the general-purpose concrete spray- supporting effect.
