Physical Characters of Coal Reservoirs in Fusheng Coal Mine of Qinshui Basin

    • In order to exploit coalbed methane (CBM) resources, prevent the outburst of coal and gas and avoid gas overrun in coal mining area, the characters of 15# coal reservoirs were analyzed based on the underground observation of natural fractures and coal structure, combined with mercury intrusion test, gas content test as well as the tectonic curvature of the coal seam floor contour in Fusheng Coal Mine. The results show that the transition pores and micro-pores of 15# coal, which are beneficial to the adsorption of coalbed methane, are well developed. The micro-pores and medium-pores are not developed, which shows that 15# coal is unfavorable to the diffusion and seepage of coalbed methane. The gas content range is from 5.30 m3/t to 16.36 m3/t and the amount of coalbed methane resource is 367.413 1 million m3. The coal body structure from broken coal to pulverized coal is developed in research area and the tectonic curvature of the coal seam floor contour predicts that the permeability range is from 0.004×10-3 μm2 to 0.134×10-3 μm2.
