Hydrothermal Disaster Control and Geothermal Resource Utilization Based on Dredging and Draining Technology

    • Watery abnormal areas in Cambrian limestone aquifer is defined based on underground transient electromagnetic method and DC electrical method in western roadway of Pingmei No.8 coal mine.Combined with features of geothermal gradient and aquifuge thickness from coal floor of Ji-group to limestone roof of Cambrian, seven boreholes with depth of 150 m for dredging and draining geothermal water of Cambrian limestone are designed and constructed in coal floor of western roadway. The total water inflow of these seven bores is 300 m3 / h and the temperature of emission geothermal water reaches 50 ℃.The result of dredging and draining makes the water bursting dangerous region with the inrush coefficient more than 0.06 MPa / m in No.8 coal mine decrease to 5 480 m2 each year, and the geothermal water can be drawn to surface and used for bathing, life, swimming and heating. Thus, more than 26 million yuan is saved or increased each year and the environmental benefit is remarkable.
