Abstract
Through theoretical analysis, it is found that the stagger and continuous working faces are connected with the overlying strata collapsed from the first working face, which is similar to a super long working face mining; at the same time, it is found that the main roof of stagger and continuous working face is in the different stress state before and after the initial fracture. On this basis, the mechanical models of the main roof of the continuous working faces in the different periods were established and the formulas of the main roof breakage interval were deduced. It is found that the first weighting interval and periodic weighting interval of the continuous working face are less than those of the first working face. This phenomenon was also found in the similarity simulation experiment, otherwise, during the period of mining, the abutment pressure peak was transfered to the side of the continuous working face, and it is advantageous to the mining of continuous working face. The research results were verfied by the field test.
