Research Progress on Experimental Methods for Permeability Characteristics of Coal Containing Gas

The permeability characteristics of coal containing gas are the important basic parameters for the scientific development of coal seam gas development and deployment scheme and the control of mine gas disaster. During the implementation of mine gas drainage (or coalbed methane development in mining area), the gas content of coal seam gradually decreases, which makes the permeability characteristics of coal change. In fact, the permeability characteristics of coal body containing gas under the condition of formation will be influenced by the factors such as geo-stress and temperature. For a long time, coal seam sampling and laboratory measurement are the main technical means for scholars to study the evolution characteristics of permeability of coal containing gas. The paper firstly analyzes the mechanism of permeability effect of main factors on coal containing gas, introduces the test method of coal containing gas permeability, and emphatically analyzes the existing problems in current research and summarizes the future direction of development and the problems to be further studied.
