Classified Study on Causal Factors of Coal Mine Gas Outburst Accidents

    • To identify the behavior factors that lead to coal and gas outburst accidents and take preventive measures to reduce coal and gas outburst accident rate, this paper proposes a cause classification framework of coal and gas outburst accidents based on the accident causation “2-4” model. It is utilized to statistically analyze the direct causes, indirect causes, radical causes, root causes, and their frequencies in 93 major accidents of coal and gas outburst in China. The specific manifestations and main factors of various accidents are obtained, and the corresponding control measures are given. The results show that the accident factors can be divided into 4 stages and 13 kinds of factors, including direct cause unsafe movement, direct cause unsafe physical state, indirect reason, root cause; the causal factors cause the highest proportion of accidents are the violation of the regulations in blasting, the foreboding of outburst, the lower safety awareness, the defective safety training management system. The safety depends on the safety consciousness. According to the results, the coutrol measures for the cause are proposed.
