Measurement Test on Rock Stress and Gas Pressure Ahead of Driving Face

    • In order to get the influence scope and degree of mining activity on ground stress and gas pressure, we propose the measures of installing stress and pressure sensors in drainage roadway to study the change laws of advancing rock stress and gas pressure at 5122(5) driving face in Xieyi Coal Mine. The results show that the affected range of mining activity on rock stress and gas pressure ahead of driving face is about 35 m to 40 m; peak value of rock stress change occurs in the front of the tunneling of 2 m to 6 m and it is close to its original stress level after advancing about 40 m. The maximum change of gas pressure occurrs at about 1.5 m to 8 m after advancing the rear of working face, and is gradually recovered and stable in a certain range after the working face advances about 15 m to 25 m. From the perspective of the analysis of monitoring data, the monitoring on stress and gas pressure achieves good effect.
