Application of High Pressure Water Pre-splitting Forced Caving Technology in Shendong Mining Area

    • For the safety problems of forced caving operation by blasting for hard roof in Shendong Mining Area, the high pressure water pre-splitting forced caving technology is introduced. Through mining industry application at ten working faces of six coal mines in Shendong Mining Area, it shows that high pressure water pre-splitting can increase and expand the roof crack, weaken hard roof, eliminate large hanging roof in goaf during the initial mining period; with the “gentle” rock pressure of working face, the first caving step distance of basic roof is shortened, which does not affect the normal production; compared to blasting caving, this technology is safe, economic, environmental, and each working face can save costs about 2 to 5 million yuan.
