Reasons Analysis of Large Deformation for Roadway Surrounding Rock Under Hard Roof and Its Controlling Measures

Large deformation occurred at 12221 working face transportation roadway of a mine, especially the roof and floor, which seriously affected the intake air and material handling process. Based on the influencing factors of large deformation of roadway surrounding rock, it is concluded that: the extrusion of periodic weighting of hard sandstone on remained arc structure rotation for downside roadway is the main factors causing large deformation of surrounding rock; deep hole blasting forced caving was implemented in field; compared to the surrounding rock deformation monitoring points further, roof and floor deformation reduced 58.63% after blasting, and the deformation of two-side reduced 35.86%.
