Study on Logging Recognition for Coal Seam Surrounding Rock Oil and Gas in Huangling Coal Mining Area

  • Oil and gas coexistence in coal bearing strata has an effect on the coal mining when these are poured out in the process of roadway excavation and mining in Huangling Mining Area. The lithology and electrical characteristics of the reservoir about Yan'an and Yanchang strata was analyzed using the data of well logging. The increasing rate of resistivity about surrounding rock is less than 2 compared with adjacent water layer, and the contrast of reservoir fluid is not obvious. The reservoir porosity is low and the hydrocarbon saturation is lower than 30%, which calculated by logging interpretation model. The hydrocarbon strata are identified as low resistivity hydrocarbon strata and its hydrocarbon abundance is also low. On this basis, the prediction of hydrocarbon distribution can be made using geological methods before the roadway excavation and mining; therefore it can guide the mine gas drainage operation.
