Application of Liquid CO₂ Extinguishing Technology in Large Closed Mining Area of Huashan Mine

Aiming at the fire in the high-risk zone management process of 4238 face in Huashan Mine, we analyzed the combustion process, causes and governance difficulties. For the features of large closed mining area, ground does not have the construction means to directly extinguish fire, we developed a program of graded injecting liquid CO₂. Using the effect of absorbing heat, reducing O₂ and preventing explosion, we successfully extinguished the fire of 4238 face in Huashan Mine.
