    Reason Analysis of Dust Accumulation in Skip Hoisting Return Air Shaft by FLUENT

    • The dust pollution in skip hoisting and return air shaft is still one of difficult problems in coal mine safety work. In this paper, by using site survey and the case experience from domestic and foreign counterparts, the dust pollution in the air return skip shaft of Liuquan Mine is analyzed in detail. The numerical simulation analysis soft FLUENT is applied to obtain the velocity field and pressure distribution of the return wind when the skip is at different positions in the mine shaft. Thus, the deep-seated reasons of the dust pollution in the wellbore will be extracted by the proposed method; because of the limitation of the air shaft section, the local airflow velocity will be too large when the skip is running in the air shaft, causing coal dust dispersal, which can provide a scientific basis for the latter technological transformation of the coal mine.
