    Study on the Reasonable Location of Mining Gateway in the Very Close Quarter Coal Seam Under Goaf

    • The reasonable location of mining gateway, in the very close quarter No.9 coal seams under goaf of No.8 coal seam in Jialequan Coal Mine, was studied by numerical simulation and field theory analysis. The results showed that abutment pressure formed from residual coal pillars of No.8 coal seam makes the stress distribution of floor non-uniform, and the non-uniform distribution of vertical stress σz is a main factor that influence the stability of the surrounding rock; the choice of reasonable location of mining gateway should not only consider stress considering zone of vertical stress σz under goaf, but also pay attention to the force equilibrium of the tunnel; the mining gateway in the No.9 coal seam of Jialequan Coal Mine is arranged under goaf whose horizontal distance is about 15 meters from the edge of residual coal pillars in No.8 coal seam, and the actual mining practice of No.9101 working face has proved the rationality of the gateway layout.
