Abstract:
The burnt rock aquifer is the main water hazard for shallow coal seam mining in eastern Yushen Mining Area. The typical characteristic of burnt rock aquifer was revealed by analyzing geological exploration data and roadway engineering disclosure information, with the conclusion that water abundance was decided by pore and fracture features, groundwater recharge, runoff and discharge conditions, and horizontal heterogeneity. The water hazard control technology that summarized as “comprehensive exploration, prevention first, partition treatment” was proposed based on the spatial structure and hydrops conditions of burnt rock aquifer. With the comprehensive exploration methods like geophysical prospecting, drilling, the weakly aquiferous areas with micro-fissures and pores, also the richly aquiferous areas with cavity and fissures can be detected in burnt rock aquifer. Aiming at the weakly aquiferous areas, only a small pillar is needed to protect working slopes; considering the richly aquiferous areas, the scheme that building water proof sluice-wall and setting coal and rock waterproof pillar is suggested. The 2301 thick seam workface in a mine in Yushen Mining Area phaseⅠ, which was subjected to the water hazards of burnt rock aquifer, achieved its safe mining and water-preserved mining by setting a 10 m cut-off coal pillar and a 43 m water-proof pillar to protect working slopes.
