Abstract:
In order to study the influence of working face strike on fault activation and abutment pressure distribution, 3DEC software is applied to simulate fault-oriented mining and back-oriented fault mining. The test results show that: during the fault-oriented mining, the fault activation occurs at a distance of 50 m from the fault, activation rate increased rapidly when it is 25 m away from fault, due to the influence of fault, the maximum abutment pressure is 27 MPa and the stress concentration coefficient is up to 2.2; during the back-oriented fault mining, the fault is active when the mining distance is 75 m from the fault, as the working face is gradually away from the fault, it is less affected by the fault activation, and the maximum supporting pressure is 17.2 MPa. By contrast analysis, the effect of back-oriented fault mining is better than that of fault-oriented mining.
