Abstract: In order to solve the problems of shallow borehole depth, many drilling accidents, low rate of coal seam and low drilling efficiency during drilling in soft and outburst coal seam rich in pyrite nodules by using conventional wide-wing spiral drill pipe and inserted screw drill pipe. By referring to the above two types of drilling rod discharge mechanism, we design inserted sealing type drill rod joint to improve the structure of the screw blade, and develop φ95/60.3 mm inserted sealing type wide blade screw rod, and introduce the its design and the key manufacturing technology. Through industrial tests, 8 holes had been constructed, the maximum depth is 103.5 m, the average is nearly 97 m, the average drilling efficiency is 10.4 m/h, net drilling efficiency is about 18.3 m/h, which shows that the rod has good application value in the similar coal seam.
