Abstract: For the current situation of coal mine safety production in China, statistics of coal mine accidents during the “12th five-year” period are carried out, we analyze the statistics in terms of quantity, type, proportion and other factors. Among them, the number of coal mine accidents in China decreased by 856 and the number of deaths decreased by 1 385, and the death rate of million of tons has been reduced by 76%, but, roof accidents and gas accidents are still the main accident types causing the death of coal mines. This paper analyzes the present situation of coal mine industry, and proposez some countermeasures from the aspects of national laws and regulations, government supervision, coal enterprise management, staff quality and prevention of major accidents, all these have important practical significance to promote the sustainable development of coal mine safety during the “13th five-year” period.
