Abstract:
In order to investigate the support effect of new resin boltings in roadways underground coalmine, 62B2 working face of Wangzhuang Coal Mine in Shanxi Province was chosen as the engineering background. The software, FLAC
3D, was used to numerically simulate the stress distribution of this roadway in 62B2 working face without support, and the distribution zone of the maximum vertical stress was determined. Comparison of support effect between the new resin boltings and traditional boltings was made through field tests. The research result shows that the zone with the maximum vertical stress is distributed in the place which is around 8 m to 9 m away from the roadway without support. In the area of stress concentration, the deformation of roadway supported by the new resin boltings is obviously larger than that by the traditional boltings. However, the result is inverse in the area of normal stress. The resin bolting is practical in the low-stress zone where the coal walls are relatively intact, but it is not suitable for the high-stress zone due to the bad support effect.
