Abstract:
Due to the coal seam layering in the mining process of coal mine, there were two coal seams remained in goaf. In order to study the effect of coal seam layering on spontaneous combustion “three zones” of goaf, the distribution of oxygen volume fraction in goaf was simulated by FLUENT before and after coal seam layering. The result of numerical simulation was compared with the data from the spot, which is highly coincided with the spot. At the same time, the two simulation results of “three zones” were compared and analyzed. The results show that after the coal seam layering, the width of heat dissipation zone decreased by 7 m and the width of spontaneous combustion zone decreased by 3 m in return air side compared with that before the coal seam layering; the width of spontaneous combustion zone decreased by 1 m in intake air side. The change of amount and spatial distribution of residual coal in goaf results in the change of spontaneous combustion “three zones” of goaf.
