Abstract:
Taking the thick seam mining near the normal fault as research background, we use FLAC
3D numerical simulation to study the evolution laws of abutment pressure with the working face heading to normal fault, and reveal the laws of disasters caused by normal fault mining. The results show that the integrity of the roof and floor strata is cut by the fault zone and the barrier effect of mining stress is significantly, which leads to the high stress of the fault coal pillar. When the footwall is advancing to normal faults, there is a suddenly increases of bearing stress, making the fault coal pillar emerge plastic failure and release a large number of elastic energy. When hanging wall is advancing to normal faults, the bearing stress increases gently and partial bearing stress can transfer to footwall, then a smaller stress concentration zone on the footwall is developed. The bearing stress curve presents a large and small "double hump" shape.
