Abstract:
The explosion suppression agent concentration of unit area is a key factor affecting gas explosion suppression effect. To study the effect of surface density of explosion suppression agent on inhibiting effect of gas explosion propagation, we carried out explosion suppression experiment in a
φ500 mm pipeline under the action of five kinds of different surface density of explosion suppressant agent. The results show that the inhibiting effect of ABC superfine powder extinguishing agent on explosion flame is more obvious than the attenuation effect on explosion pressure; the decreasing amplitude of explosion pressure is up to 57.6% in the experiments, and the flame speed is up to 100%. Explosion suppression effect is enhanced with the increase of surface density of explosion suppression agent, the explosion pressure and flame can be effectively controlled only when the surface density of explosion suppressant is higher than the critical value, and the measured surface density was 40.8 kg/m
