Abstract: In order to eliminate the danger of coal spontaneous combustion, a liquid CO₂ storage and transporting equipment is developed. Canned liquid CO₂ is transported to nearby high-temperature zone or spontaneous combustion danger zone with train through laneway in underground coalmine. The liquid carbon dioxide is directly infused into the high-temperature zone to cool it and lower temperature and eventually to extinguish the fire. This technique is used in preventing spontaneous combustion in the goaf of near-neighbored coal seams successfully, and the application result shows that the technology can lower temperature and oxygen concentration obviously, normalize CO concentration and eliminate hidden danger of coal spontaneous combustion.
