Abstract:
A new type of full section belt-broken catcher has been designed. The device consists of capture system, hydraulic system and PLC control box. When the conveyor belt is broken, PLC control box immediately activate the hydraulic system based on fault signal transmitted by speed sensor and the hydraulic cylinder take action. As a result, the belt is captured reliably by capture system. A prototype of the device has been made based on simulation by using the AMESim. The response time and the captured force have been tested. The results show that the full section belt-broken catcher of this paper can satisfy the request of actual production, and the force can achieve as much as 790 kN, the response time is 4.0 s.
