Abstract: Unsafe acts are the main causes of gas explosion accidents in coal mines, and the illegal operations account for 71% of unsafe acts. Based on different operation objects, the operations are divided into nine kinds, such as blasting, checking gas, operating electrical equipment, operating the local fans, operating ventilation equipment, operating main fan, roadway maintenance, using mine lamp and others. Among these, there are more illegal operations related to blasting, checking gas and operating electrical equipment. According to rules of coal mine and 201 cases of major gas explosion accidents from the year 2001 to 2009, the operations can be divided into several sub-operations. After induction, recombination and statistics, the specific unsafe acts are found out during each sub-operation. Workers can improve the abilities of self-control and preventing accidents by the specific illegal operation trainings.
