Abstract: Aiming at the prevention of residual coal spontaneous combustion fire underground goaf, combined with the example of goaf fire disaster prevention and extinguishing in a coal mine, a new fire disaster prevention and extinguishing strategy was introduced in details. Some technologies were used to prevent and extinguish the fire, which included building closed walls, spray sealing, nitrogen injection for oxygen reduction, liquid CO₂ injection for cooling, three-phase resistive foam injection against recrudescence and other methods. By monitoring the indicators of the sealed areas, the unsealing was achieved, the fire spread ultimately was prevented, and the casualties were avoided, the economic losses were reduced.
