Abstract: Some indexes such as the loss rate and dilution rate of the coal and ore fragmentation are affected by the choice of thin coal seam mining technology in open-pit mines, which directly influences the economic benefit in open-pit mines. The AHP analyzing model was established based on researching the main indexes which influence thin coal seam mining technology. A case study was carried out by dealing with harwusu 5^# coal mining system and the correctness was validated. The results have important guiding significance to the thin coal seam mining in similar mines.
