Based on previous data and experimental results, the gas content distribution characteristics and influence factors in 3
# coal seam of Longwan Coal Filed are discussed by using qualitative and quantitative analysis method. The study shows that the regional tectonic evolution is the major factor to control coal seam gas content, the lithology of roof and floor in the 3
# coal seam provides favorable gas occurrence conditions, the burial depth is the important factor to lead to gas content change in 3
# coal seam. The burial depth and gas content is in positive correlation. The gas content in syncline part of the syncline is greater than that in the wings, anticline shows the opposite trend.
