Abstract:
In order to satisfy the requirements of rotary steering-oriented drill pipe with real-time data transmission, through the combination of structural design, numerical simulation, laboratory test and field comprehensive test, the
ϕ114.3 mm cable drill pipe was designed and developed, which improves the overall torsional strength and tensile strength of the joint. Large taper is adopted in the design of screw thread, which can effectively adapt to the operation of underground manipulator to unscrew drill pipe automatically. Asymmetric curved surface structure is adopted to improve the overall flow area of the drill pipe. The
ϕ114.3 mm cable drill pipe has been tested in Tangjiahui rotary steerable construction, with a total footage of 2 421 m. The field test results show that the mechanical properties of drill pipe are stable and the signal transmission is reliable, which can meet the real-time and two-way signal transmission requirements of rotary steerable drilling.
